Lima, June 11 (RHC)-- Peruvian presidential candidate Keiko Fujimori has conceded defeat, admitting she lost the presidential race against Pedro Pablo Kuczynski by less than a percentage point.

In the final tally, Kuczynski garnered 50.12 percent to 49.88 percent for Fujimori.

Kuczynski, who lost the first round against Fujimori in April, was able to beat the daughter of former dictator Alberto Fujimori after receiving the endorsement of leftist leader Veronika Mendoza and a number of anti-Fujimori groups.

The 77-year old president-elect has said that he will not grant amnesty to Keiko's father, imprisoned former dictator Alberto Fujimori, but has said he would sign off on an order for house arrest at Congress’ request.

Despite winning, Kuczynski's power will be severely limited by Congress, where Fujimori allies control a super-majority.
