New York, June 16 (RHC)-- In the United States, CNN, Fox News and MSNBC cut the live coverage of a rally by Donald Trump to turn to a speech by his rival, Hillary Clinton.  In a move called “unprecedented,” the three major cable networks dumped the coverage of the rally in Atlanta, Georgia, to show Hillary Clinton’s speech in Hampton, Virginia.

According to the Washington Examiner, which described the decision as a “rare” one, Trump was speaking about immigration and terrorism in the wake of a deadly terrorist attack in Orlando, Florida.  The billionaire businessman’s speech was being carried live by all the three networks -- but as Clinton began speaking they all shifted to the Democratic candidate.

The move runs completely counter to the trend the U.S. mainstream media has adopted in treating the real estate mogul.  Trump was said to have earned nearly $2 billion worth of free press up to March alone, nine months after launching his campaign.  So far, CNN, MSNBC and Fox have covered him more than any other presidential candidate in the run-up to the 2016 presidential election.

The reality TV star has already said that he welcomes propaganda even if it is against him.  During an interview, The Donald once said: "The press is always hungry for a good story, and the more sensational the better."
