Rome, September 19 (RHC)-- Cuban Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment Rodrigo Malmierca met with Italy's Minister of Economic Development Carlo Calenda, as part of his working visit to the European country.
Minister Malmierca participated Monday in the opening of the 5th Meeting of the Cuba-Italy Business Committee.
During his stay in Rome, he is also scheduled to meet with Kanayo F. Nwanze, a Nigerian national who is the President of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) --a Rome-based UN specialized agency dedicated to ensuring that agriculture is a central part of the international development agenda.
Minister Malmierca arrived in the Italian capital from The Netherlands, where he exchanged information with authorities on economic and trade relations with Cuba and business opportunities on the Caribbean state.
