Rome, September 30 (RHC)-- Cuba has been designated, together with five other countries, as member of the Work Committee of the 26th Agricultural Commission of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization, the FAO, through 2018.

Elected President of the Work Committee, Joseph Sam Sesay, from Sierra Leone, was to present Friday a report of the committee's four-day meeting, which was attended by representatives from 120 member countries and from 17 other international organizations.

The Agricultural Commission is one of FAO's policy-making entities, dealing primarily with such issues as land, food production, livestock, rural development and natural resources.
