Matanzas, January 14 (RHC)-- Breaking the media silence around the case of The Five is key to incorporate more people to the demand for their release, Maria de los Angeles Hilario, member of the 31st contingent of the Australian Southern Cross Solidarity with Cuba Brigade said on Monday.

Prejudices maintained by the capitalist press about the anti-terrorists unfairly condemned to prison in the United Status prevents many persons from knowing the truth about the case and prevents them from demanding the return of these men to their families, asserted this brigadista of Spanish origin.

During a tour of several places of interest in Matanzas, the 22 members of the solidarity group continued to champion the freedom of Gerardo Hernandez, Fernando Gonzalez, Antonio Guerrero and Ramon Labañino.

The anti-terrorists were the victims of a politicized trial in Miami. Four of them have been in prison for over 15 years, while Rene Gonzalez is home in Cuba, after serving out his unfair sentence.

Artists, students, social workers and educators of Australia and New Zealand compose the Southern Cross Brigade. They have been in Cuba since December and are involved in various activities, including voluntary work in agriculture.
