Buenos Aires, November 27 (RHC)-- Former Argentinean President Cristina Fernández wrote an impassioned article about late Cuban leader Fidel Castro, in the country's newspaper Página 12. She recalls the first meeting with Fidel on May 25th, 2003, on the inauguration of her husband, the late Nestor Kirchner, as President of Argentina.
Fernández says that she met later with the Cuban revolution leader in Havana in January of 2009, when the mainstream media and Cuba's enemies had spread the false rumor that Fidel was dead and that the Cuban government was hiding the news.
In the article, she provided information of that meeting in 2009, saying the photos taken during that encounter have now gone viral on the social networks.
Besides the photos, the meeting between Fidel and Cristina became immortalized in one of Fidel's written reflections entitled 'The Meeting with Cristina.'
In the reflection, Fidel wrote: 'the meeting lasted 40 minutes, during which we exchanged extensively, just as I expected. She is a person of profound convictions. There were no disagreements whatsoever.'
