Havana, May 11 (RHC)-- The Cuban Ambassador to the United States José Ramón Cabañas has confirmed the growing interest among entrepreneurs  in the U.S. State of Kentucky in strengthening business with Cuba.

Ambassador Cabañas visited Kentucky earlier this month and exchanged with Governor Matt Bevin, and the mayors of Louisville and Lexington, Gregory E. Fischer and Jim Gray, respectively.

The Cuban diplomat also held meetings with Congressmen James Comer (R-Tompkinsville) and John Yarmuth (D-Louisville), as well as with several members of the State Legislature.

Other activities on the Cuban diplomat's visit agenda included a tour of the University of Louisville, where he was received by Interim President Gregory Postel.

The Cuban ambassador also gave a presentation on Cuba and the country's relations with the United States, organized by the World Affairs Council of Kentucky and Southern Indiana. The audience included university students and professors, business executives from several sectors and other state authorities and personalities.

Cabañas also met with members of the Cuban-American Community in Kentucky.
