Caracas, Feb 1, -- Cuba and Venezuela signed 56 new cooperation agreements in the areas of energy, oil, health, agriculture, education and sports, totalling 1,2 billion dollars, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro said.
In statements to the press, Maduro said the agreements aim particularly to strengthen cooperation and open new opportunities for business in the energy, oil and petrochemical areas.
Also, the president also praised Cuba’s cooperation in the fields of health and education, highlighting the work of the 35,000-strong Cuban workers mission in Venezuela, which is to be reinforced under the new deals.
