Havana, September 7 (RHC)-- El Salvador's Foreign Minister Hugo Martínez arrived in Havana Wednesday for an official visit, during which he will meet with senior officials in different sectors among other activities.
Cuba and El Salvador first established diplomatic relations on November 11 1902, which were later suspended in 1961.
Diplomatic ties were reestablished on June 6, 2009, when the Farabundo Martí National Liberation Front assumed the presidency in the Central American country. Ever since, Cuba and El Salvador have boosted bilateral cooperation in sectors like health, education, culture and the fight against crime. The two countries also work together toward regional integration.
