South Africa to Support Cuba Develop Company Law

Havana, November 1 (RHC/agencies) --South African Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry Bulelani Magwanishe said South Africa will share its advanced expertise on company law with Cuba, as the island updates its legislation on the issue. Magwanishe's remarks came during the opening of the South African Pavilion at the Havana International Fair on Tuesday.

“South Africa seeks cooperation in the areas of agro-processing, infrastructure development, mining, telecommunications and pharmaceutical sectors, to name a few,” said the deputy minister. He noted that establishment in South Africa of special economic zones also offers unparalleled opportunities for Cuban investment and participation. “Investment, participation and partnership with Cuba in the special zones  is welcomed, he said.

Cuban Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment Ileana Nunez said that South African support through the Economic Assistance Agreement in force has enabled Cuba to purchase tyres, plastic resin and vegetable seeds from the African nation.
