Bissau, January 16 (RHC-Minrex)-- The Minister of Health of Guinea Bissau, Carlitos Barai and the Cuban Ambassador, Tomás Lorenzo Gómez, signed the update of the Agreement of Medical Cooperation between the Ministries of Health of the Republic of Cuba and the Republic of Guinea Bissau.
The ceremony was held at the Embassy of Cuba with the presence of officials of the Ministry of Public Health of Guinea Bissau, and the direction of the Cuban Medical Brigade in this country.
The Cuban diplomat thanked the Guinean Ministry of Health for the support offered to the work of the Cuban medical brigade during the last year, which allowed the reopening of the Headquarters of the Faculty of Medicine in the Gabú Region and improve the conditions of life of the collaborators. He added that the signing of the document is an example of the excellent state of relations of friendship and cooperation between the peoples and governments.
The Minister of Health highlighted the solidarity and disinterested aid offered by Cuba to Guinea Bissau, expressing on behalf of his people and government, gratitude for several decades of Cuban assistance to his country in the health sector, both in patient care and in the training of professionals in the "Raúl Díaz Arguelles" Faculty of Medicine.
