Havana, January 23 (RHC)-- Cuba's permanent representative at the United Nations Anayansi Rodríguez, issued a call for concerted efforts and actions among all nations of the world toward eradicating poverty, as an indispensable requisite to achieve sustainable development.
Addressing the 1st period of sessions of the executive board of the UN Development Program, the Cuban diplomat said eradicating poverty stands as one of the top, pressing challenges humanity is facing right now.
The Cuban senior diplomat lamented the current sharp decline in basic resources devoted to development programs worldwide. She further said that those resources are essential to meet the development needs of receptor countries.
