Havana, Feb 21 (RHC)-- The 49th Contingent of the Venceremos Brigade will visit Cuba for approximately 10 days between April and May this year, once again challenging US policy toward Cuba through civil disobedience travel.
While in Cuba, the brigadistas will fulfill a packed agenda that includes voluntary work, educational exchanges and their participation, alongside the Cuban people, in celebrations on May Day -- International Workers' Day-- and later, in an international solidarity with Cuba conference on May 2nd with the participation of solidarity activists and Cuba friends from around the world.
The Venceremos Brigade said on its website that this year's trip represents a unique opportunity to ensure that the new U.S. administration's escalating attacks on Cuba are met with resistance on every front.
Over nearly 50 years, thousands of U.S.-based activists have traveled to Cuba as part of the Venceremos Brigade, a historic project of solidarity, popular education, and relationship-building between the U.S. solidarity movement and the Cuban Revolution.
