Cayo Santa Maria, May 5 (RHC) -- The picturesque Cuban town of Sagua la Grande, in the central province of Villa Clara, has officially entered the island's tourism catalogue due to the attractiveness of its historic sites and its new hotels.
During the Thirty-eighth International Tourism Fair FITCuba 2018, which ended Saturday, the Palacio de Arena and Hotel Sagua establishments were inaugurated.
The more than 3000 delegates from 52 countries participating in the event learnt details of the town of Sagua la Grande, an area of the northern center of the country that qualifies as “a first”, because among other examples, the first telegraph network, the first Congo chapter, and the first Chinese casino were installed there.
The emblematic site is also distinguished because from there emerged figures such as doctor Joaquín Albarrán, father of Cuban urology, and the Hotel Sagua has hosted celebrities such as the Spanish poet Federico García Lorca.
On previous days, tour operators, travel agencies, airline executives, and representatives of the main hotel chains of the world, learned about the Cuban tourist destinations Isabela de Sagua and Cayo Esquivel.
Both the quality and opportunities of Cuba and its varied products, and the security and hospitality that tourists find in the Caribbean nation were highlighted.
