Santiago de Chile, March 13 (RHC)-- Cuba's First Vice President Miguel Díaz-Canel termed as fruitful his current visit to Chile, particularly prospects of strengthened bilateral ties between Havana and Santiago de Chile under the administration of Chilean President Michelle Bachelet.

In statements to the press in Santiago de Chile, where Díaz-Canel travelled heading the Cuban delegation to Bachelet's swearing-in ceremony, he praised the hospitality and solidarity of the Chilean people and the existing potential for closer bilateral political, trade and cooperation ties.

Díaz-Canel pointed out that the existing potential for strengthened ties lies in bilateral agreements signed between the two nations back in 2009, during Bachellet's first presidential term.
