Manzanillo, October 9 (RHC)-- The 150th anniversary of the beginning of Cuba's independence war will be marked Wednesday at La Demajagua National Park in Manzanillo, in the eastern Cuban province of Granma.
The historical site is ready to host the celebration after the renovation of some of its facilities.
According to local media, some five thousand residents will attend the commemoration that will be held at the foot of the ruins of the sugar mill owned by the Father of the Nation, Carlos Manuel de Céspedes, from where he launched the war.
As part of the celebrations, on Tuesday there will be a special stamp cancellation and a cultural gala in the Manzanillo Theater.
