Havana, October 29 (RHC) -- President Miguel Diaz-Canel met this Sunday with Robert Fico, top leader of the SMER-SD Party and former Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic, who is visiting Cuba.
An official Cuban communique says the meeting took place in a cordial atmosphere, and that both nations reviewed the state of political relations as well as economic projects being undertaken.
The former Slovakian Prime Minister was accompanied by Lubos Blaha, president of the European Affairs Committee of the European Parliament, and a delegation.
On the Cuban side, the meeting was attended by among others, José Ramón Balaguer, head of the International Relations Department of the Communist Party of Cuba; Rodrigo Malmierca, Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment; and Marcelino Medina, acting Minister of Foreign Affairs.
