Havana, March 18 (RHC) Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez was received on Monday by Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan during an official visit Rodriguez is paying to that country as part of an African tour that also includes Djibouti, Ghana and Equatorial Guinea.
During the meeting, Bruno Rodriguez conveyed a message from President Raul Castro and the Nigerian President reiterated his personal commitment to the expansion of bilateral relations between Nigeria and Cuba, Granma newspaper reported.
Previously, the Cuban foreign minister met with his Nigerian counterpart alhaji Aminu Wali on issues of bilateral interest and they affirmed their interest in deepening political, economic, commercial and cultural links. They also addressed topics of the international agenda.
Bruno Rodriguez also met on Monday with the president of the People´s Democratic Party of Nigeria Alhaji Amadu Muazu, who expressed his satisfaction for the current bilateral relations between his political organization and the Cuban Communist Party, and he agreed to the need to further strengthen historic links between the two nations.
The Cuban Foreign Minister kicked off his Nigeria agenda on Sunday 16 by meeting with leaders of friendship-with-Cuba organizations, the Committee for the Freedom of the Cuban Five, the Association of Professionals Graduated in Cuba and representatives of Nigerian society.
