Hanoi, November 26 (RHC)-- The Cuban Minister of the Armed Forces,General Leopoldo Cintra Frias, was received Monday in Hanoi by the President of Vietnam, Nguyen Phu Trong. During the talks, the Vietnamese head of State praised the excellent bilateral ties between the two countries. Earlier in the day, General Cintra Frias met with his Vietnamese counterpart, Defense Minister General Ngo Xuan Lich.
The Cuban official is leading a high-ranking military delegation on a working visit to Vietnam from November 24th through the 28th at the invitation of the Vietnamese defense minister.
During the encounter, the two sides reported about their countries’ situation, and discussed regional and international issues of common concern. They also reviewed the recent defense cooperation agreements between Vietnam and Cuba, especially key cooperation plans for the 2017-2019 period.
The Cuban delegation’s visit is a contribution to the practical and effective promotion of bilateral defense ties, thus strengthening the traditional friendship between the two Parties, States, armies and peoples.
