Havana, March 22 (RHC) –Cuban President, Miguel Diaz-Canel, began the second day of his visit to the capital in the municipality of Regla, where he reviewed progress being made in economic and social programs.
The head of state toured a food production plant in the area, one of the hardest hit by the January 27 tornado.
So far Díaz-Canel has visited the Coppelia ice cream factory, the Brascuba Cigarrillos S.A. enterprise, the Technological University and areas of the Diez de Octubre municipality where housing infrastructure is being repaired after the impact of the tornado.
He also visited a student recreation center and a clinic linked to health tourism and scientific research.
This month, the Council of Ministers, led by the president, began the second cycle of nationwide visits to the country's provinces in the eastern territory of Santiago de Cuba, and aims to review progress being made since the group's last visit, that ended in February, 2019, in La Tunas.
