Havana, March 27 (RHC) Heberprot-P, the Cuban medicament that prevents the amputation of lower limbs in patients with diabetic foot ulcer, has been registered in Russia, raising to 20 the number of countries using the medication developed by Havana’s Center of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology, the CIGB.
Manuel Raices, Doctor of Sciences and researcher at the CIGB, told the press on Wednesday that 140,000 patients from around the world have been treated with Heberprot-P with excellent results, since it’s the only one of its kind that, he said, stimulates granulation and the rapid growth of epithelium in foot ulcers.
