President of Ghana concludes visit to Cuba with keynote speech

Havana, April 5 (RHC) – The President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has concluded his official visit to Cuba with a keynote speech at the University of Havana and a tribute to African heroes.

The visitor was received by Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel and paid tribute to the island's National Hero José Martí  at the monument erected in his honor in Havana. 

Diaz-Canel and the Ghanaian President reaffirmed the good state of relations between the two countries, established 60 years ago this year, and their willing to strengthen them. 

The President of the National Assembly of People's Power, Esteban Lazo, held talks with the African leader as part of the visit which began April 3rd.  During the meeting Lazo thanked Akufo-Addo for his country's historic support in the fight against the U.S. blockade of Cuba. 

Meanwhile, the Ghanaian head of state thanked the president of the National Assembly of People's Power for the warm welcome and acknowledged the role of Cuban doctors in providing health care services to the people of Ghana.
