Havana, April 11 (RHC)-- Cuba’s representative before the Executive Council of Unesco, Oscar León, has denounced the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States against the island, according to diplomatic sources.
The Cuban diplomat termed the blockade policy as "the most unjust, severe and prolonged system of unilateral sanctions that has been imposed against any country."
León underscored an increase in sanctions against the Caribbean nation, where the blockade has impacted all fields of society.
The Cuban senior diplomat stressed that the blockade policy imposed almost six decades ago continues to be the main obstacle to Cuba’s development.
