Havana, November 6 (RHC)-- Cuba is gradually advancing in the deployment of a digital television signal, a process that aims to complete the termination of all analog TV broadcasts by 2023.
Glauco Guillén Nieto, director-general of the Telecommunications Research and Development Institute (LACETEL), told Granma newspaper that the island shows a digital signal coverage of more than 70 percent of its territory.
During the inauguration of the IV Annual Conference on Information Technologies, Multimedia and Telecommunications, underway at Meliá Habana Hotel, Guillen said that customers had purchased more than 2.2 million receiver devices to enable their analog TVs to receive the new signal.
