Havana, June 22 (RHC)-- Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel defended the government innovation management system.  "When science and government talk to each other, there is a response," he said on his Twitter account.

According to Díaz-Canel, the systematization of the link between government and science, as an approach to address all the country's fundamental issues, is one of the lessons learned from the offensive against the COVID-19 pandemic.

Such an appreciation is contained in the article "Gestión gubernamental y ciencia cubana en el enfrentamiento a la pandemia" (Government management and Cuban science in the face of the pandemic), written by Diaz-Canel and academician Jorge Núñez, which was reviewed this Monday by the newspaper Granma.

The publication also said that in the next few days, the head of state will have a first meeting with the entire science and innovation system related to food production, one of the country's priority programs in order to achieve food sovereignty.
