Havana, August 11 (RHC)-- Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez condemned Monday the United States Administration´s obsession to destroy the Revolution.

“New millions for old infamies, for the perverse obsession to destroy the Revolution," wrote Díaz-Canel on Twitter, while commenting on the White House's decision to allocate up to three million dollars for covert actions to denounce presumed labor and sexual exploitation in Cuba.

The president recalled that his government has implemented more than 20 measures in the areas of labor, wages, and social security to protect citizens, amid the pandemic.

“The subversive move, orchestrated through the so-called United States Agency for International Development, USAID, is a new aberration of the war against the country, and part of the strategy followed by Donald Trump's administration to distract attention, with an electoral purpose, from its mismanagement of the COVID-19 pandemic, “ a Granma article shared by the Cuban president said.

Official data from the World Health Organization says that more than five million people have been infected with the disease in the United States and more than 160 thousand have died.
