Havana, August 13 (RHC)-- Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez said today that overcoming the current rebound of COVID-19 would be the best tribute to the memory of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro, as the island commemorates this Thursday, the 94th anniversary of the birth of the leader of the Revolution.
Today, 94 years of Fidel, to whose work we owe the unquestionable successes that led us to the control of the COVID, Díaz-Canel wrote on Twitter.
The best tribute to his work, to the monumental human work that he left us, would be to overcome the upsurge through discipline and care, the Cuban leader said.
With multiple celebrations and tributes, Cubans are marking the date.
In Santiago de Cuba, authorities and representatives of the people went to the Santa Ifigenia Heritage Cemetery to pay tribute before his tomb.
