Havana, Feb 26 (RHC) Cuba reported on Friday 875 new confirmed cases of Covid-19 for a total of 48,441 infections to date.
In his televised briefing, the national director of Epidemiology, Francisco Durán, in his televised briefing, described as positive the balance in terms of new infections and hospital discharges of the last 24 hours.
The official pointed out that two people died from the disease on Thursday, bringing the number of deaths to 314. At the same time, 19,169 patients are admitted for clinical, epidemiological surveillance, 2,971 are suspected, and 11,862 are under surveillance.
The specialist explained that of the 875 positive cases, 854 are autochthonous and 21 are imported, 830 are contacts of confirmed cases, and in 24 of these cases, the infection source is not yet known.
The capital is still the disease's epicenter, with 462 positive diagnoses, followed by Camagüey, Santiago de Cuba, and Pinar del Rio, with 84, 70 and 51 reports, respectively.
