Havana, April 2 (RHC)-- Cuba today reported four deaths and 1,077 new infections of Covid-19 over the last 24 hours, establishing a new record of cases for a day, since the beginning of the pandemic.
In his daily briefing to the nation, Dr. Francisco Duran, the island´s Chief Epidemiologist informed that over the last 15 days, the island has remained with an increasing trend, with 12 801 autochthonous and 138 imported cases.
Cuba currently accumulates 77,353 COVID-19 infections and 429 deaths since March 2020.
A total of 24,939 patients remain hospitalized, of whom 3706 are suspected, 16 716 are under surveillance and 4,517 are active with the coronavirus.
Duran added that 148 cases were below 20 years of age, with 131 in pediatric ages
Havana reported 516 cases, Granma province ranked second with 116 followed by Matanzas with 98.
