Havana, May 1 (RHC)-- Cuba reported on Saturday 915 patients with Covid-19 and 5,437 active patients in hospitals due to a rebound and the circulation of variants of the SARS-Cov-2 virus, which has kept the contagion curve high for several weeks.
The island now accumulates 107,622 positive cases, the national director of Epidemiology, Francisco Durán said on a television briefing.
Ten patients died in the last 24 hours, bringing to 654 the number of deaths since March 2020, he explained.
Havana province is still the epicenter of Covid-19 on the island, with 632 cases; neighboring Mayabeque reported 46, while eastern Santiago de Cuba and Granma reported 65 and 21 cases, respectively.
