U.S. authorities prohibit Cuban nationals with double citizenship
from accessing the Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA).

Havana, Aug 1 (RHC)-- Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez described as absurd the inclusion of his country as a sponsor of terrorism and rejected the interference of this measure in the relationship between families.

Using the Caribbean nation's absurd qualification as a sponsor of terrorism as a pretext, the U.S. authorities prohibit Cuban nationals with double citizenship from accessing the Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA), denounced the head of the island's diplomacy on Twitter.

'Cease the discrimination and obstacles to links between Cuban families,' he added.

In January 2021, the Caribbean nation was again included in the unilateral listing during the final days of Donald Trump's term.

According to Havana authorities, the inclusion in the State Department document ignores the 19 international conventions signed by the country related to the confrontation of terrorism.

Cuban territory has never been allowed to be used to organize terrorist actions against any other country. Cuba has had no participation whatsoever in financing this type of action. It has collaborated with the United States, assured last June the deputy director of the United States Johana Tablada.
