Havana, August 8 (RHC)-- Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez denounced that the U.S. economic blockade hinders Cuba's accelerated development of Information and Communications Technologies -ICTs.
The Foreign Minister pointed out that despite this, 64 percent of Cubans have access to the Internet, and 76 percent have digital television signal coverage.
However, the U.S. siege restricts more than 60 computer programs and sites, including 20 Google tools.
Contradictorily, the United States is working to provide Cubans with new free Internet infrastructure and, to that end, is pressuring the International Telecommunications Union to turn a blind eye to probable actions that violate international regulations.
