Havana, September 7 (RHC)-- The Central Bank of Cuba (BCC) informed that it will issue a new series of Cuban peso banknotes with the printing year 2021, which will include the denominations of 200, 500, and 1,000.

On its web page, the BCC informed that the watermark containing the image of Celia Sanchez will be replaced by that of the martyr on the front of the new banknotes.

Thus, the image of Frank País will appear on the 200, Ignacio Agramonte on the 500, and Julio Antonio Mella on the 1,000.

The Bank added that the new banknotes will enter into circulation gradually and that those from previous issues of the same denomination will remain legal tender.
