German company Aventoura GMBH and Platten Sailing donated 104,000 disposable syringes and needles to support Cuba’s vaccination campaign.
Havana, September 22 (RHC)-- German company Aventoura GMBH and Platten Sailing donated 104,000 disposable syringes and needles to support Cuba’s vaccination campaign.
The shipment, which arrived on Tuesday, was received by officials from Cuba’s Ministry of Public Health.
The head of the ministry’s Donations and Projects Department, Dr. Aldo Grandal Sosa, expressed his gratitude for donation, which adds to many others which have been sent by organizations and governments around the world, to support Cuba’s vaccination campaign.
Aventoura representative in Cuba, Chris Blaha described as gratifying the opportunity to help the island at such a difficult time.
“This delivery aims to contribute to the fight against the pandemic in Cuba. For 25 years Aventoura has tried to build bridges instead of walls, bring cultures closer together instead of separating them, and promote mutual understanding. For us it was obvious and a duty to support the delightful Cuban people,” stated Blaha.
In recent months, Cuba solidarity groups, organizations and individuals have sent donations to the country to support its fight against Covid-19, as it grapples with a crippling economic and health crisis exacerbated by the US blockade.
