Beirut, December 11 (RHC)-- Lebanese Foreign Minister Abdullah Bou Habib received Cuban Ambassador Alexander Pellicer Moraga in an audience that marked the end of the latter's mission, Prensa Latina news agency reported.

Both addressed the situation of the Caribbean nation and its economic recovery after the opening of the Caribbean country last November 15.

Pellicer pointed out that now there are better conditions to go ahead with the economic updating program to promote internal potentials and investments.

He also commented on the difficult situation the Caribbean nation has gone through in the last two years due to the intensification of the U.S. blockade and the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.

He also spoke about the key contribution of the Cuban pharmaceutical industry, which was able to develop five vaccine candidates against the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, the origin of the deadly Covid-19.

The head of the Cuban mission also pointed out the possibilities of establishing collaboration mechanisms between Havana and Beirut in the health sector to produce vaccines and other medicines.

In another part of the dialogue, Pellicer thanked the local authorities for their support in performing their duties and reaffirmed Cuba's willingness to strengthen relations and cooperation with Lebanon.
