Washington, December 11 (RHC)--The leader of the solidarity project Puentes de Amor, Carlos Lazo, called for a worldwide vigil for peace and for the end of the U.S. blockade against Cuba on December 23.

This event will take place in community centers, churches, and wherever people wish to advocate, ask, and pray for an end to the policies and sanctions that suffocate the Cuban people, Lazo explained to Prensa Latina.

The Cuban-American professor informed that the vigil against the blockade is planned to be held in several countries. In addition to the U.S. city of Miami, other U.S. states are also preparing activities for next December 23.

Each month of this year, Bridges of Love has called for caravans for the end of the siege imposed six decades ago on the Antillean nation, and the solidarity initiative has been replicated in various parts of the world.
