Deputies continue their work at Havana's Convention Center

Havana, December 20 (RHC)--Cuban lawmakers continue Monday with the work in permanent commissions, the activities leading up to the 8th Ordinary Session of the National Assembly in its 9th Legislature.

 

This Sunday,  deputies analyzed the Plan and the draft Law on the State Budget for 2022 and the regulations on Land Waters, Fishing, and National Symbols.

 

The Committee on Attention to Youth, Children, and Equal Rights for Women evaluated the implementation of the Presidential Decree related to the Program for the Advancement of Women in Cuban society.

 

The deputies received an update on the process of accountability of the delegates to their constituents and the performance of the Mother and Child Program.

 

The deputies of the Committee on Economic Affairs of the National Assembly of People's Power discussed the economy's behavior at the end of 2021 and the prioritized goals in next year's budget plan.

 

The President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel, present at the Committee on Economic Affairs, said that the eagerness to comply with next year's Plan and budget should not lead to a disconnection from the efforts for the computerization of society, science and innovation, and communication.

 

This Monday, Central State Administration Agencies will report on their management to the deputies of the Cuban Parliament.

 

Tomorrow will begin the eighth Session of Parliament in its current Legislature, with a summary of the economic activity during 2021 and the Plan for 2022, whose presentation will be made by the deputy prime minister and head of Economy and Planning, Alejandro Gil.
