Havana, January 10 (RHC)-- The Cuban Communist Party sent greetings to the African National Congress of South Africa on its 110th anniversary.

The congratulatory message was sent, via Twitter, by Dr. Roberto Morales Ojeda, member of the Political Bureau and Secretary of Organization and Cadres Policy of the Central Committee of the PCC.

In the message, Morales Ojeda recalled the close friendship between Fidel Castro and Nelson Mandela.

The ANC has been in government in South Africa since democracy in May 1994, when Nelson Mandela assumed the presidency.

Recently, the First Secretary of the Party and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, thanked his South African counterpart, Cyril Ramaphosa, for his permanent solidarity in the struggle against the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the U.S. on Cuba; gratitude that he extended, to the Executive Committee of the African National Congress.
