Havana, February 8 (RHC)-- Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel has called for the strengthening of the Revolution's programs aimed mainly at prevention, assistance and social work.

According to Cuban television news, the president stressed that these plans were devised by historic leader Fidel Castro, which he described as the social base of the Revolution and evidence of its humanist vocation.

Among the programs implemented are the integral training of social workers and art instructors, as well as attention to vulnerable families.

"They are a demonstration of how our socialist ideal is to achieve the greatest possible social justice," he said. In addition, he called for these projects to exist and work in the communities, at the same time, he stressed the importance of linking young people to study and work.

Cuba prioritizes popular participation as a way to boost the nation's programs aimed at raising the quality of life of its inhabitants.

Díaz-Canel and other high-ranking Cuban officials have insisted on the need to deploy a style of work at all levels of government characterized by "going down" to the grassroots to learn first-hand about the aspirations of the population and seek solutions to their problems.

At another time, the Cuban president has called for the application of the concepts of Popular Power created by Fidel Castro to strengthen the work of the government in vulnerable neighborhoods.
