Havana, July 23 (RHC) -– Cuban Revolution leader Fidel Castro held a fraternal encounter on Tuesday morning with Chinese President Xi Jinping, who paid an official visit to the island heading a large delegation.
Xi Jinping and Fidel Castro addressed different issues of international interest, particularly the challenges and dangers facing humanity and the significance of the declaration recently adopted by the BRICS countries in Brazil.
They also exchanged views on the large and increasing cooperation between China and Cuba. Fidel spoke with Xi about his theoretical and practical studies, which revealed the possibility to increase the production of food of high quality and demand on the international market.
In a gesture of friendship, Xi Jinping gave Fidel a bronze bust which resembles a younger Fidel.
Attending the meeting was Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, members of the Political Bureau of China’s Communist Party and other members of the Chinese delegation.
