Assembly of the Peoples of the Caribbean holds session in Santiago de Cuba

Havana, July 6 (RHC)-- The 9th Assembly of the Peoples of the Caribbean began its work sessions on Tuesday in the Stained Glass Hall of the Plaza Antonio Maceo in the eastern city of Santiago de Cuba, with the attendance of representatives from 11 countries of the region.

At the opening ceremony, the representative of Haiti, Camille Chalmers (in the photo), on behalf of the organizing secretariat of the event, thanked the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) and the Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP) for hosting the event.

For his part, the provincial secretary of the Cuban Workers' Union, René Berenguer, welcomed the participants and guests.
