Cienfuegos, July 25 (RHC)-- Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel began a tour of the El Fanguito community in Cienfuegos province, one of the 42 vulnerable neighborhoods included in a revival program.

Earlier in the morning, the president had noted in his Twitter profile: "We are on our way to beautiful Cienfuegos. We will visit neighborhoods, productive, cultural and educational centers. We will also settle our debt with the Carlos Manuel de Céspedes Thermoelectric Plant. We will exchange with that fighting people and always in 26".

The presence of the also First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party (PCC) takes place on the eve of the celebration of the 69th anniversary of the assaults to the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes Barracks, which on July 26, 1953 marked the beginning of the Cuban Revolution.

The president's day began with a tour of the Fanguito neighborhood of the Buena Vista Popular Council, where he visited the recently built Family Doctor and Nurse's office, reported the official presidential website on Twitter.

He is accompanied by the Prime Minister, Manuel Marrero, and the Secretary of Organization of the Central Committee of the PCC, Roberto Morales, plus the main territorial authorities.

Some 10 thousand people from Cienfuegos will participate tomorrow, Tuesday, in the central act for the National Rebellion Day.

On July 26, 1953, a group of young people led by Fidel Castro, later identified by Cuban history as the Centennial Generation, attacked the Moncada (Santiago de Cuba) and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes (Bayamo) barracks, actions that the leader himself described as the small engine that started the big engine of the Revolution.
