Havana, Nov 25 (RHC) The International Congress Advocacy 2022 concludes today with the debate on issues associated with criminal, criminological, labor, and family conflicts and the new regulations in Cuba after the approval of the Constitution of the Republic in 2019.

Lidia Montes de Oca, first vice-president of the National Organization of Collective Law Firms (ONBC), said that, before this event was held at the Convention Palace in Havana, preparatory courses and exhibition of works of lawyers took place.

According to the lawyer, the meeting facilitates the analysis of current provisions such as the Penal Code, the Law on the Execution of Criminal Sentences, and the Law on Constitutional Protection and the preparation of professionals in the practice of law on the island.

Montes de Oca, a member of the National Electoral Council (CNE), explained to Prensa Latina that the members of the ONBC also serve as electoral authorities in the upcoming elections for the selection of delegates to the Municipal Assemblies of People's Power.

She acknowledged that the vote on November 27 includes the voting of the direct representatives of the citizens, "the link between society, the higher organs of power" and the person in charge of transmitting the problems of their community and the search for solutions.

For three days, more than one thousand delegates from the Caribbean nation and 38 foreign experts also discussed topics related to the role of the lawyer in the family justice system; clinical legal education, and access to justice, based on experiences in Argentina, Colombia, Spain, and Mexico.
