20th Scientific Convention on Engineering and Architecture concluded in Havana
Havana, Dec 2 (RHC) The 20th Scientific Convention on Engineering and Architecture ended on Friday at the Havana Convention Palace, marked by the principle of leading both disciplines towards a sustainable future.
The event held for five days brought together delegates from 21 countries in more than 11 simultaneous congresses. The 58th anniversary of Havana Technological University 'José Antonio Echeverría'(CUJAE), was remembered at the end of the convention.
The ceremony was presided over by Inés María Chapman, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Cuba; Maira Arevich, Minister of Communications; Miriam Alpízar, Vice Minister of Higher Education; Dr. Modesto Ricardo Gómez, rector of CUJAE; and vice-rectors of that institution.
Gómez affirmed that the institution, a leader in the area of technical sciences, will continue to be in the vanguard of the country.
In his closing speech at the Convention, the Vice Prime Minister of the Republic, Jorge Luis Perdomo Di Lella, celebrated the progress and potential of CUJAE and called for continued entrepreneurship and innovation.
The XX Scientific Convention of Engineering and Architecture was an opportunity for the academic and professional community to exchange on sustainable development and research.
It also fostered forms of international cooperation between institutions, entities, organizations, and universities.
