Cuba Coopération France (CubaCoop)
Paris, Jan 5 (RHC) The Cuba Coopération France (CubaCoop) association said today that it is moving forward together with European organizations and personalities in a petition to strengthen the fight against the U.S. blockade of the island, an initiative that also seeks to promote economic collaboration.
In its first weekly publication of 2023 of the Lettre électronique Hebdo, which has thousands of subscribers, the organization said that the European request is nearing completion.
The founding president of CubaCoop, Roger Grevoul, recalled that the coordinated action of organizations and personalities from France, Spain, and Italy, among other countries, was launched in September last year, in the context of the L'Humanité festival.
The platform starts from the real scenario that the U.S. economic, commercial, and financial blockade against the Antillean nation has no foreseeable end, which demands working in two directions, the active rejection of that policy within the European Union (EU) and greater economic cooperation with the island.
The idea is to give more support to Cuba which means more concrete actions to support its socio-economic development in the difficult conditions imposed by the siege applied by Washington for more than 60 years.
On behalf of CubaCoop, Grevoul considered the European initiative an important step in the fight for justice and the right of the Cuban people to decide their destiny.
He also affirmed that the greatest stimulus to continue in that battle is the resistance of the heroic people in the face of aggression. (Source: ACN)
