South American Brigade of solidarity with Cuba
Havana, Jan 20 (RHC) Members of the XXVIII South American Brigade of Solidarity with Cuba will celebrate on the island the 170th anniversary of the birth of the National Hero, José Martí, the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples reported today.
According to the source, the 83 brigade members from Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia, Chile, and El Salvador will complete a program of visits to sites of historical, economic, cultural, and social interest in Havana, Matanzas, and Villa Clara until January 30.
The activity, which began the day before, includes conferences on current national issues and meetings with representatives of different sectors and Cuban political and mass organizations.
These visitors will also participate in the Fifth International Conference for World Balance, to be held from January 24 to 28 at the Havana Convention Center, with the presence of over a thousand delegates from 82 countries.
This event, convened by the Martí World Solidarity Project, with the support of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, will be the culmination of the International Day in homage to the 170th anniversary of the birth of the National Hero of Cuba, the next 28th.
