Havana, February 13 (RHC)-- The director of the Islazul Havana branch, Carlos Manuel Cabanes, informed us that after the explosion that occurred this Monday at the Caribbean Hotel, there is no impact on the vital services of the facility.

He detailed that, so far, the causes of the incident are unknown, and workers of the Ministry of the Interior, the Fire Protection Agency, and the Union Cuba Petróleo are carrying out an investigation.

Cabanes told Prensa Latina news agency that at around 10:40 (local time) the explosion occurred when a worker entered a room on the fifth floor which was being remodeled.

The worker, who belonged to a Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise (MSME), suffered burns, without life-threatening injuries, and was treated at the Calixto García hospital, also in the Cuban capital.

At the time of the incident, there were no customers at that level of the facility and all isolation measures were taken, the electricity was cut off and the hotel workers and guests were evacuated. No customers were injured.
