United Nations, August 20 (PL-RHC) -- Cuba has denounced at the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) new actions by the U.S. government to destabilize the island, diplomatic sources reported today.
According to the Cuban Permanent Mission at the United Nations, the representation delivered the accusation to the Non-Aligned Movement, focusing on recent plans financed by USAID (United States Agency for International Development), aimed at promoting internal subversion.
U.S. media revealed a new USAID plan consisting of recruiting young Latin Americans since 2009 to incite Cuban youth sectors to act against constitutional order.
The Cuban Mission at the UN recalled in a press release that Washington's destabilizing plans violate the principles of the Non-Aligned Movement, particularly respect for sovereignty and non-interference in internal affairs.
Through a cell phone messaging service, that social network, active until 2012, included Cuban users' profiles by gender, ages, preferences and affiliation, to be used for political purposes.
