Santa Clara, Cuba, Feb 16 (RHC) Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel held a dialogue today with representatives of culture at the headquarters of the Performing Arts Council, during his tour as a candidate for deputy representing this city.
The meeting with the Cuban president, accompanied by seven candidates to the National Assembly of People's Power (parliament), was attended by other neighbors of the Capiro-Sandino community.
This development and research center teaches ballet, dance, and music, and is also the headquarters of the Oché Folkloric Ensemble, directed by Víctor Miranda and Danza del Alma, under the tutelage of maestro Ernesto Alejo.
Thursday's tour also includes a meeting with athletes and coaches of the Héctor Ruiz Sports Initiation School (EIDE) of Villa Clara, which will be joined by workers and neighbors of the Manajanabo community.
This is the third visit of the Cuban president to the territory of Santa Clara as a candidate for deputy.
Previously, on February 6 and 7 of this year, he visited university centers, factories, and meetings with young people and urban communities.
The group of deputy candidates for Santa Clara is also made up of the first secretary of the Provincial Committee of the Communist Party and the Governor of Villa Clara, Osnay Miguel Colina, and Alberto López, respectively, the president of the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (UNEAC), Luis Morlote, and other comrades representing the municipal leadership and grassroots delegates.
