Havana, Feb 26 (RHC) During a visit to the city of Nuevitas, in Camagüey, Commander of the Revolution, Ramiro Valdés Menéndez, Cuba's deputy prime minister, analyzed the generation situation at the '10 de Octubre' Thermoelectric Power Plant (CTE), and the state of the '26 de Julio' cement factory.

The leader was accompanied by Omar Ramírez, deputy director of Unión Eléctrica, and other officials of the Energy and Mines sector, who learned that the plant has active units five and six, both with 90 megawatts (MW) of generation and stable operation.

The also Hero of the Republic and Labor examined how the industry is working for self-sufficiency of food for workers and learned that it has already assigned areas in the garden 'El Futuro', in the city of Nunavut.

Valdés Menéndez reiterated the urgency of working with greater rigor to revert the delays in the modernization of the cement factory and organizational problems that hinder its necessary progress.

At the end of the meeting, the deputy prime minister urged to take advantage of the working days for the sake of higher productivity, decisive in the progress of the investment, of great importance for the construction sector in Cuba. (Source: ACN)
